

Now the new location of your NAS is added to Arq and can be selected for the new backup and all upcoming ones. If you use Arq to back up to a compatible storage provider, Arq can make your backups immutable for a period of time that you choose. If it doesn’t work, there is an error somewhere – go through the instructions again. Arq 7 now includes support for S3’s object lock API.

You can certainly do it manually, but Arq does a really good job of managing the annoying parts for you. If you make several backups on one disk, you should create a subfolder on this disk, so that the path ends with …/backup/office/mac1 (again no “/” at the end!). If you’d rather manage your storage yourself, you can use Arq to back up automatically to Amazon S3 or other storage providers (even Backblaze’s B2 Storage). At the end there must be no slash at all, only the directory name. Important: at the beginning there must be only two slashes. Arq Backup keeps multiple versions of your files a backup history.
